809 is built on trust, and that includes how we treat your information. This website is deliberately simple: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking, no forms, no accounts. This page explains the little that does happen when you visit, and what we do when you get in touch.
Who we are
This website is run by Stichting 809 (809Platform), a cultural foundation based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 42100953. We are responsible for the personal data described here. Questions about privacy: info@809platform.com.
When you visit the website
Like every website, ours is delivered by a server. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, automatically processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page you requested and the time of the request. This is needed to show you the website and to protect it against abuse. These server logs are kept only for a limited period and are not used to identify or profile you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Our typefaces are loaded from Adobe Fonts, a service of Adobe. To show the fonts, your browser connects to Adobe's servers, which receive your IP address. We use the fonts for the design of the site only. Where data is transferred outside the EU, the safeguards described in Adobe's privacy policy apply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a consistent visual identity.
When you email us
If you write to us, we use your name, email address and whatever you share in your message to reply and, where it leads somewhere, to work together. Our email runs on Google Workspace. We keep correspondence as long as it is useful for the conversation or collaboration, and delete it once it no longer is. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps towards an agreement you asked for.
Artists, collaborators and the archive
This website documents 809's productions: names, photographs, interviews and credits of the artists and collaborators involved. We publish this with the consent of the people concerned and credit everyone as accurately as we can. If you appear on the website, you can ask us at any time to change or remove your information or documentation, and we will do so.
Links to other platforms
We link to our pages on Instagram, Vimeo, YouTube and SoundCloud. These are links, not embedded content: nothing is shared with those platforms until you click. Once you are on their site, their own privacy policies apply.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to see the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you gave. Email info@809platform.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Changes
When the website grows, this policy will grow with it. We will update this page whenever something changes, and the date at the top will tell you when that last happened.
